Abstract This paper describes the novel scientific contribution of a modified hybrid grey wolf optimization‐fuzzy logic controller (GWO‐FLC) based on maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for photovoltaic (PV) system. The GWO eliminates lower rank ( δ ) and lowest Ψ wolves, which provides rapid search method to track global (GMPP) in lesser period. GWO‐FLC MPPT technique GMPP with zero oscillations high PV under weather fluctuations. acquires soft tuning fuzzy parameters achieve around GMPP. experimental responses confirm changing environmental situations. dSPACE real‐time platform has been employed validate proposed design, optimal accurate efficiency, fast convergence velocity, less computational switched reluctance motor (SRM) driven water pump is this research work. pumping low cost no voltage, current sensors are generate gating pattern an SRM mid‐point converter, reduces losses.
